SUMMARY:Flight Levels Flight Club - Businessmap #4 (mit Lukas Schmidt\, Deutsche Telekom)
DESCRIPTION:Dieses Webinar wird in Englischer Sprache abgehalten \nThis session opens with a guest who is no stranger in our Flight Levels Community: Lukas Schmidt starts us off with a short intro: how you depict and connect a Flight Levels Work-System Topology (WST) on a Businessmap whiteboard.Flight Level 3 is the part that does not fit a standard board. Strategy work is not linear: it wants something much more free-flowing\, and a whiteboard gives you exactly that. The Flight Level 3 board becomes a narrative you can actually depict\, and that narrative is the “S” in SOFI: the stories you pull your outcomes from\, before those outcomes turn into flight items. (OKRA – Objectives\, Key Results\, Actions – is the older Flight Levels depiction of the same idea\, and all of those parts can be shown in Businessmap.)There is a nice loop in this one: “Flight Level 3 in Businessmap” was a topic Lukas himself put on our board at an earlier session\, and we discussed it. Now he is showing us how he figured out to actually show the entire WST in an understandable manner. After the intro we go back to our usual Lean Coffee for the rest of the evening: no fixed agenda\, no slides – you bring the topics\, we vote on the spot\, and we work the most-wanted ones one at a time and timeboxed.Who it’s for: anyone curious about Flight Levels\, Kanban\, flow\, and how AI and Businessmap are changing the practice. Newcomers very welcome. When you register\, we’ll add you to our Flight Club board in Businessmap – drop your topics before the session\, vote on what to discuss\, and follow what we covered. We run the club on a Businessmap instance that doubles as a live demo environment. \nBring a question or a topic you’d like the group’s take on. \nSee you there. \nPlease address any questions to: mathias@xuviate.com or Martin.Bertram@pmi-gc.de

SUMMARY:8th Roundtable – Local Group Mainz | October 2026
DESCRIPTION:Date: Thursday\, 1 October 2026 Time: 18:00–20:00 Location: Bellpepper | Hyatt Regency Mainz Cost: Free of charge – registration required Earn: Up to 2 PDUs Language: English \nWhat to Expect \nDear project managers\, aspiring PMs\, and everyone passionate about turning ideas into impact\, Welcome to the eights PMI Roundtable in Mainz! This meetup brings together professionals who manage\, lead\, and build – for an open\, informal conversation about real-world challenges in project management. Whether you're a seasoned expert or just starting out\, your perspective is truly valued. \nEvening Topic: “From Research Idea to Real-World Impact: What Makes Complex Projects Succeed?” \nTurning an idea into meaningful results is rarely a straightforward process. Whether in research and healthcare\, technology or other complex environments\, moving from an initial idea to tangible outcomes usually requires much more than a good plan. \nAt the beginning\, the direction may seem relatively clear: there is an idea\, a goal\, and an understanding of what needs to be achieved. As the project develops\, however\, new information and evidence emerge\, priorities change\, different expectations come into play\, and unexpected challenges — from operational constraints to ethical\, regulatory\, or practical considerations — can influence the original plan. \nThe more complex a project becomes\, the more important it is to navigate uncertainty\, competing priorities\, limited resources\, different areas of expertise\, and multiple stakeholders. Progress depends not only on professional knowledge or methodology\, but also on how effectively people communicate\, coordinate their work\, make decisions\, manage dependencies\, and adapt when reality does not fully follow the plan. \nThis raises an interesting question: what actually helps a complex project keep moving forward? \nIt may be a clear structure and strong processes\, but it may also be the ability to bring different perspectives together\, make decisions at the right moment\, adjust the direction when necessary\, and maintain a shared understanding of what the project is trying to achieve. \nThis evening\, we will explore:• what makes complex projects succeed beyond planning\, processes\, and methodologies• how teams can navigate uncertainty\, competing priorities\, and unexpected challenges• how different professional perspectives can strengthen — or complicate — collaboration• what helps projects move from ideas and discussions to concrete progress and results• how to balance quality\, expectations\, constraints\, and real-world impact \nThe goal is a practical exchange: sharing experiences across different fields — for example\, in research and healthcare\, as well as other complex project environments — comparing approaches\, and exploring what can be learned from each other.Ultimately\, the question is not only how to start a complex project\, but what helps it keep moving forward and turn a good idea into something that creates real impact. \nIf there’s a topic you’ve been wanting to explore – bring your own question. Expect a relaxed and friendly atmosphere\, perfect for exchanging insights\, finding like-minded peers\, and leaving with fresh inspiration. The working language of the meetup is English\, to include our international network. Of course\, feel free to contribute in German whenever that’s more comfortable – we value clarity over formality. We’re excited to continue growing our local PMI community in Mainz and look forward to seeing you at our event! \nGround Rules: \n- Free of charge – registration required - Everyone pays their own bill – please consider supporting the venue by ordering a drink or snack - Please sign the attendance sheet for PDU tracking - Earn up to 2 PDUs - No formal presentations – just real conversations Stay connected after the event! Please follow our local group’s LinkedIn page  and the LinkedIn page of our region. \nIn case of any questions\, feel free to contact me at — anna.holovinova@pmi-gc.de \nWarm regards\, \nAnna Holovinova \nVolunteer – Head of Local Group Mainz\, Local Group Mainz PMI Germany Chapter e.V.
